Sophie Delaporte

8th September 2008

Its first ever show of renowned fashion photographer and artist Sophie Delaporte.
It will run from September 12th to October 4th.

Delaporte’s approach to her work is multi dimensional and incorporates the tradition
of needlework in unconventional ways. With a painter’s eye, she explores emotion
and sensuality whilst pushing the boundaries of sexual expression. Th e most vivid and
striking art works originate from this and from her ability to construct an image with
immaculate sense of colour.

Raising questions about the way women are portrayed, Needleworks will feature
original and prints as well as light boxes.

“As a fashion photographer, I approach my work with a real
feminist point of view. Th e female represented as an object has always shocked me. Th is is what, for me, makes the difference between a good and bad fashion picture.”
